Hone Your Craft and Pay Your Dues! Don't Get Distracted!

Hello Lovelies!

It's event season, so I have been busy, but I wanted to take the time to post before the Easter festivities set in.  I work hard to hone my crafts and never think that I am above learning something new...everyday!  When I get tired and worn out working on building my business, one of my best friends always says that I am just paying my dues. Indeed!

While I love networking online like the next person, the social networks can often distract you.  Some folks start to make it their measure of where they are in their success and it becomes like poison.  Stop worrying about what people have to say and stay in your own lane!  Move to your own beat and rock like a star in your space!

I watched this video this morning and it inspired me to write this post.   Dawn Richard (formerly of Danity Kane) has been through the ups and downs in the music business, yet she continues to rise above.  She is now an independent artist and she has not missed a step at all!  On top of the sultry voice, it is clear that she is not trying to be just another pretty face.  Look at the hard work and intricate steps in this choreography.  The song is called BOMBS, off of her new EP entitled Armor On. Listen closely to the words of the song and you will see how it ties into this post.
