There is so much I could say, but I will keep it to just a few positive points of the show...it's only fair and professional.
Mr. James Todd Smith...aka LL Cool J, is from my native Queens, NY. He brought his swagger and well...he was just as smooth as silk. Leading off a prayer for Whitney Houston (RIP), was wonderful to see and I am glad the Grammy's chose him to do the hosting. It was a change of pace and he did us New Yorkers proud! If you didn't already know, LL holds two Grammy's for earlier works in his Hip Hop career.

Adele...This classy lady makes me smile! She has poise and doesn't need fancy overtones to deflect because of lack of skills. She is what the Grammy's are supposed to be about...raw talent! Most of her music is just a piano and her voice. She swept all six categories that she was nominated in and gave a wonderful performance of her chart-topping hit, "Rolling In The Deep".

It is hard to believe this young lady had throat surgery this past November. If she hadn't, her voice would be in question for the long haul, so thanks to those doctors that removed a benign polyp on her vocal chords. I dig her style and the way she carries herself, all at the ripe old age of 23!? Yes, there is still hope for the young singing divas coming up behind her...Amen to that!

Foo Fighters...I have loved them for a long time...ever since their Mentos Mint spoof video. LOL! They are true rockers and Dave Grohl can sang! Yes, SANG! I believe they are 11 Grammy's deep with last night's additions. Congrats on the armful of Grammy's fellas!

Tony Bennett...Another Queens, NY native...Old-School style! Folks just entering the music world need to take a tip from this man! He ALWAYS manages to stay relevant with the younger folk! How? I don't know, but whatever the formula...it is working. He is still winning Grammy's and picked up two more last night. Bennett now holds a whopping seventeen Grammy's under his belt! Not too bad for 85 years young, huh?

Bruno Mars...THIS DUDE! When he told the audience to get up off of their rich a**es...I laughed so hard, almost to tears...but when the camera panned out, folks got up and started dancing...HILARIOUS! This young man is mega talented and if you didn't jam to his performance last night, you need a pulse! More Grammy's are in his future (He has one to-date). Bruno Mars is a complete entertainer...we need more of his type back in the music business!
Lastly, I wanted to share this ~> video <~ of Adele speaking with journalist Anderson Cooper. In a business where talent is sadly not always what keeps people on top, Adele proves that she is the genuine article. No smoke and mirrors here, folks!
Stay Lovely!
