BITTERSWEET HOLIDAY!

I really have to get back on my blog game!  I will try for 2012...not a resolution so much (I don't do those), but an actual serious effort to make sure I am updating folks on the latest happenings.

My holiday was a bittersweet one.  I had a wonderful time seeing and spending quality time with my family.  I am usually in NYC for business, so it was great to just detach for a while and enjoy the city.  I say bittersweet because my extended family laid to rest my Aunt Frances.  She had a long battle with Breast Cancer and knew she was at the end.  She was in the hospital and wanted to come home to go peacefully and she did.  LOVE that woman...always will!  She consistently said what was on her mind and was never short on advice, especially in the relationship department.  She would school the younger ladies in the family on a bad man in a minute...lol!  Her funeral was packed and folks gave great recounts of how she touched their lives over the years.  It was hard to keep the tears back while I sat in the pew next to my cousin and uncle.  Breast Cancer Awareness Month was just a few months ago and it is a cause that I support and have volunteered for throughout the years.  I wrote a blog on it back in October, not knowing this was going to be the last time I would see Aunt Frances.  I want her to still be here, but I am also glad that she is out of pain.  One thing that sticks with me is what she did for others and how she was able to be a true friend, confidant and shoulder of truth.  She kept it real, direct, all with a sense of humor and her quick wit!  The family loves you Aunt Frances...R.I.P.

Stay Lovely!
