#BlackHistoryMonth IS Quvenzhané Wallis!

Quvenzhané Wallis became the youngest actress ever to receive a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress.  This is a huge honor for ANY actress, but is extra special and fitting since it is Black History Month as well.  Ms. Wallis has, in fact, made history!

Now, why would ANYONE want to taint such an honor? I will NOT give the perps from the Oscar night debacle any shine on my blog. You are free to Google it for yourself to see the atrocious comment.

This is a time where young children are fragile and we need to protect them at all times. What may seem like satirical joking to some, can be quite the insult to another. I am not such a prude that I don't enjoy an off-color joke every now and then, but ones involving children? No thank you!

The media professional in me knows this is a royal nightmare for that organization, the woman in me is disgusted at the use of such a vulgar word ( I do not use it and never have) and the human in me is just disappointed at the entire situation. Unfortunately, this is not the first offense for these folks and sadly, it probably won't be the last.  When you know better, you SHOULD do better!

Stay Lovely!
